Skylink ML-100 AAA+ Wall Mountable Home Smart Center with Rechargeable Battery Review
Skylink ML-100 AAA+ Wall Mountable Home Smart Center with Rechargeable Battery is a wall-mountable security system package which comes with AC adapter, built-in rechargeable battery back-up, all DC batteries for sensors and mounting materials.
The system is capable of providing automation and security for home. Included in the package are 2 wireless door/window sensors, key chain and remote for arming/disarming the system, and a wireless motion detector.
The sensors have Skylink Rolling Code technology that changes code everytime they are triggered to ensure wireless communications.
The system is expandable with up to 10 sensors including door/window, water, motion, keypads, remote keychain, flood sensor, garage door sensors and temperature sensors.
Using any touch-tone telephone or cell phone, you can call the security system to check the alarm status and to arm/disarm the system.
If you have Skylink appliance modules, you can remotely turn off appliances at home through the telephone. The Skylink appliance module is sold separately.
Alert and Alarm Mode
In Alert Mode, Skyline ML-100 makes a beep sound, LED flash and makes voice announcement to alert occupants when sensors are triggered. In Alarm Mode, the system calls up to 5 telephone numbers which are preprogrammed and gives voice announcement about the zone which has been breached.
While other security systems let you pay for monthly monitoring fees, Skylink ML-100 offers these features for free.
Master Password
A master password is designated so the alarm console can arm/disarm or program the security system.
Tricky Duress Password
Aside from the master password, Skylink offers duress password which is especially designed for emergency situations. When the occupant is forced by someone to disarm the security system, the duress password can be entered which eventually stops the alarm but it also triggers the system to dial emergency numbers silently to notify the other end about a panic situation.
The intruder thinks that you are only disarming the security system, without having a clue that you have already called for help.
Keychain
Skylink ML-100 has keychain remote with panic button. In case of emergency, pressing this button allows the system to call the programmed telephone numbers and send a panic announcement with the homeowner at home.
Elderly or immobile individuals can use this keychain panic button or the optional wrist bracelet remote to summon assistance if they are unable to reach a telephone to call for help.
Wireless Keypad
The security system package also includes a wireless keypad that can be mounted near the door. This keypad is used to arm or disarm the system from back, front and garage doors.
There is also a flood sensor which is very helpful in preventing huge water damage to properties by sending notifications to the homeowner immediately when flood starts.
